The film is based on this same work of fiction, so it will, in many ways, resemble the basic story points of the book.

Is this worth all of the fuss it's getting? Didn't we object to criticism about Gibson's Passion because it seemed to be opposing the message of the content and not the film itself. Aren't we being asked to do the same thing?

Are we seriously expected to bury our proverbial heads in the sand and protest or boycott or "othercott" [rolleyes -- for crying out loud] a film we haven't seen? Isn't that exactly what they would expect Christians to do?

Hi, I'm here to rail against the pointless drivel, Da Vinci Code!
Great! So you've seen the movie?
No - No, I haven't.
But -- OK, then, you've read the book, right?
Well, no, not exactly.
So, you're basing your opinion on what, exactly?
Some lady on the internet told me that I should hate "The Da Vinci Code" and go see "Over the Hedge" instead!
That's some kind of animated creature movie, right?
Yeah!
Did any of the creatures in the movie happen to be -- lemmings?
Uh-umm -- I dunno, I just went cause the lady told me to, alright?
Fair enough. One more question -- This internet lady, does she happen to own stock in DreamWorks Animation?
Gee, I don't know. Why do you ask?
Nevermind.

I doubt that I'll see it in theaters (because I hardly see anything in theaters) [-cough- 4-year-old -cough-]. But I'll probably see it eventually, and when I do, you know where you'll find my thoughts!Jeremy Stockwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03588877690446354814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10396019.post-1147103542655823272006-05-08T11:52:00.000-04:002006-05-08T11:52:00.000-04:00Just some points:... the questioner moves on with ...Just some points:

... the questioner moves on with eyes flashing unnaturally, "Why is the Church so afraid of women, huh? Why has it suppressed them since the beginning? Answer THAT!"

Five minutes with your wife would answer this and show what an idiotic question this is. *smile*

Scandalizing the Sheep

I started out with Jesus - tried my own thing for about 12 years - came right back to the source.

This world is a self-centered trap. So much of it revolves around "what's in it for me?"

I'm sure the "conspiracy goat" in all of us wants to eat this garbage up and savor every little piece of scrap paper nuget we can get off the rusted can.

Protests not only fuel the box office, they make all Christians look like idiots.

Standing ovations are in order for this simple line.

Other boycott

You're right on with this! Now which movie should I go check out, the one starring the Scientologist looney, or the one where Hollywood can make a "killing" glamorizing a national tradgedy that still burns under my skin?

Hollywood should change their name to "Crapsville" until they start producing quality again and not mind-numbing, CGI-enhanced celluloid.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
